eSIM Basics

What is an eSIM?

An eSIM is a digital SIM card already built into your phone. No tiny chip to insert! After you buy an eSIM from DataLendR, we send you an email with everything you need to get connected.

The easiest way to activate is with our one-click link: tap it, enter the code, and you're done in about 2 minutes. You can also scan a QR code if you prefer.

How does an eSIM work?

Think of it like downloading an app. Your eSIM profile is sent to your phone digitally, and your device stores it securely.

Once installed, your phone connects to local networks in your destination country automatically. No roaming fees, no searching for WiFi!

What are the benefits of using an eSIM?

  • Convenience: Buy online before your trip. No need to find a SIM shop abroad.
  • Instant Activation: Set up in 2 minutes with our one-click activation. Be connected when you land.
  • Multiple Profiles: Keep several eSIMs on your phone for different trips.
  • Dual SIM Functionality: Keep your home number active while using your travel eSIM for data.
  • Environmentally Friendly: Zero plastic waste. 100% digital.
  • Security: Can't be lost or stolen like a physical SIM card.

Top-Up

How Top-Up Works

Running low on data? Adding more is easy:

  1. We'll email you when your data is running low, with a direct link to top up.
  2. Click the link to see available data packages for your eSIM.
  3. Pay and your data is added instantly. No need to reinstall anything!

Top-Up Availability

Most eSIM plans support top-up. A few don't, but we'll let you know.

If your plan doesn't support top-up, just buy a new eSIM. You can have multiple eSIMs on your phone and switch between them easily in Settings.

Tip: Top up before you run out completely to stay connected without interruption.
